Making my way back up to my room I check out my closet, I have nothing to wear.
I open my roller bag I brought back; taking out the clothes I spot my black leather mini skirt and matching black satin Basque with silver roses embroidered down the front. I think I have found a winner.
Running back into my closet with a new excitement, I rummage through the boxes of shoes to find my black sandals with white rhinestones on the straps. This is going to be awesome I say to myself. I decide to match my makeup with my top, doing black Smokey eyes with a layer of silver glitter, I choose a light pink lip and decide to use my false eyelashes. I curl my hair into my beach waves again but leave it down. Standing in front of the mirror checking myself out, I look good, damn good I can't wait until Knox sees me.
I pull into the parking spot that is now my usual parking space for coming into town, at the side of Georges. I see Max lifting out the empty kegs, lining them up against the wall for the pick up tomorrow as I step out of the car reaching into the back seat to grab my pea coat, I hear Max let out a wolf whistle, "Damn Bailey, you trying to give every guy round here a heart attack?" I laugh "No just one in particular" I smile locking my car. He is laughing "Holy shit Bailey, you are lucky you are with my brother otherwise I'd be after you myself" I put my coat on and close it up, "You coming in?" he asks holding open the side door, "No I am meeting Paige for dinner first then we will be in" Max nods "So are you guys friends again?" I smile at him "I don't know, I hope so. I better get going she is probably there already. Oh hey don't tell Knox you saw me" He nods crossing his heart "I won't ruin the big reveal" he says stepping into the hallway letting the door close behind him.
Paige and I have a nice dinner, she updates me on school and how she is no longer with Duke. She has decided to stay single for a while and just be herself. I fill her in on my life and my new status as Knox's girlfriend. "Oh my gosh! Bailey that is so cool" she squeals. "I know, it is still new but I really like him," I tell her. We chat for another hour, have a few drinks then head over to the bar. We walk into Georges which is crowded as usual but it is more fun when it is, we walk over to the end of the bar looking for a seat. I watch Knox and Max getting drinks out fast neither of them notices us.
I take off my coat, putting it on the bar at the wall; Lucy walks over to her ordering spot. "Hey Bailey, Look at you girl" she says smiling. She shouts at Knox for her drinks he looks up quickly then stops dead, dropping the two beers to the floor along with his mouth. I do a twirl for him smiling when I stop; he rubs his chest while standing, staring at me. I crook my finger and call him over to me; He comes willingly looking up and down every inch of me from my toes to my hair. He steps out from behind the bar putting his hands on my hips, he leans in to whisper in my ear "Holy shit Bailey, you are the most amazing woman I have ever seen. You look like a supermodel and damn sexy as hell" I smile at him "Thank you, you look kind of hot yourself" he laughs then pulls me in for a kiss. "I don't want to let you go," he says rubbing my ribs with his thumbs.
He is getting me hot, so I kiss him "I know but we need a drink" I say pointing between Paige and I. "Anything for you beautiful" he winks then turns to get our drinks. Paige grabs my hand "Did you see his face" she is like a giddy schoolgirl, I smile "Yep that's what I was going for" I tell her. "I wanted him to see the old me, who I lost touch with for a while" she rubs my arm "Awe, well I think you are awesome" Knox brings over our drinks "Here you are ladies" he kisses me on the cheek "Hey Paige you wanna do a shot?" I ask her holding onto Knox, she nods her head "Can we have two Goldstrike's and two tequilas, please baby?" He beams a smile at me "Sure" "Oh and one for you and Max too, I'm celebrating," I say. He looks at me funny then goes to get the shots, Its karaoke night again and everyone is really enjoying themselves, Knox and Max come over to do the shots with us, we all pick our glasses and I make my toast "To finding your way back to yourself" I say lifting my glass clinking it with the others, we knock back our drinks slamming the glasses on the bar. Knox leans in "What was that toast about?" I wave my hand from my head down "To me, getting back to how I used to look and feel" I say, he runs his hand down my hair and nuzzles my ear "Well I am so happy you decided to be the old you, but I don't mind any version, your beautiful no matter what you wear. I place my hand on his cheek and smile "Thanks" he nods returning to work.
Paige and I are having fun, we do our shots then go to the dance floor, we get some whistles but just stick to ourselves. We dance together for about thirty minutes then need a drink break, we are laughing and I am enjoying tonight when we get back to the bar. Knox looks over and we both lift our glasses and shake them. He laughs holding up his finger and mouths "One minute".
Turning to Paige I ask, "Do you sing?" "No way not unless you want to empty the place," she laughs. I roll my eyes "Yeah right, you can't be that bad" she nods her head furiously "Ok I believe you". Knox comes over with our drinks; he holds my hands "Can I steal you for a minute?" I look at Paige; she waves at me to go I hate to leave her alone. We go into the back and Knox spins me around into his arms, "You are beautiful" he leans his forehead on mine, "Thank you" I say as he lets me go. He takes out his phone "What are you doing?" he smiles "I am getting a picture of my very hot, very sexy supermodel girlfriend" I shake my head "No Knox I have been dancing and I am all sweaty" "I know darlin and you look amazing, now smile" I laugh at him and he snaps a few photos, typical guy.
"I think I should be offended" I say, "Huh why?" I pout at him messing with his head "You never took a picture before, when I looked like shit" He laughs "I know what you are doing Bailey but it won't work" he wraps his arms around me, then kisses me, a deep wanting kiss. I can feel his want against my belly and it starts my own fire. He pulls away "I better stop before I can't" he says. "Yeah I need to get back to page" I wipe his lips with my thumb; taking out my phone I pull him beside me and snap my own picture. I kiss him on the cheek "Thanks" I say walking back outside. On the way through the beads he reaches under my skirt and pats my ass, I look over my shoulder, swatting his hand away. He just laughs, stealing another kiss.
My body is tingling with heat and desire; I need to do another shot. When I get back to the bar Paige is smiling "Someone looks happy" I can't help but smile at her, wrapping my arms around her neck "Yes Paige I am, It's been a while but I really am" she hugs me back "I am so happy for you Bailey". "Ok more shots," I say, we wave at the bar and hold up our shot glasses.
It's so handy being in with the bartenders, Max comes over this time with our shots "Ladies you are both looking beautiful this evening" he says winking at us, we smile back at him.
I down my shot feeling the burn all the way down to my stomach; it only adds fuel to the fire Knox started. I am getting a nice buzz so Paige and I hit the dance floor again, no one has been singing for a while and we dance to the house music playing. I see Gemma walk in the door and nod at Paige we both giggle, "She is so not singing to Knox tonight" I say in Paige's ear. She laughs at me "Go claim your man" she says grabbing the karaoke book. I know what I want to sing so I wave it away.
I step onto the stage and ask the DJ if he has my song, "Let me look" he says. I nod waiting for him, then he gives me thumbs up "What's your name, so I can announce you?" I shake my head no "I'll just sing" he shrugs his shoulders turning down the house music. Some guy from the back of the room shouts "Hey hottie, come over here when your done I have a seat for you" I roll my eyes at him "I already have a seat" I say into the microphone which causes some of the guys in the bar to whistle and cat call at me.
I look over to the bar and see Knox and Max standing there with their arm across their chests looking at me, I can see they are bracing themselves for a cat getting strangled. I decide to steal Gemma's line before she can "This is for Knox" I say in a sultry voice and wink at him. Max bursts out laughing while Knox has the biggest smile on his face, I turn to the DJ "Ok go" he pushes the button and "Big girls don't cry" by Fergie rolls up on the screen. I take a breath and begin. I know I can sing but it's been a while, I start off a little nervous but by the end of the first verse I am belting out the song and having a great time doing it. I look over at Knox who is clearly shocked, rolling my eyes and continue. Letting the song transport me away for a few more minutes. When I finish everyone is clapping, Paige runs up to me grabbing me in a huge hug, she is crying "Oh My gosh Bailey, that was beautiful" I smile "Thanks" I hug her back then wipe her eyes for her, she starts laughing at herself "Ok now I need a drink" I say.
We reach the bar; Both Knox and Max start clapping. Knox comes out from behind the bar picking me up by the thighs he twirls me around, "Hey put me down, My skirt" he turns his back to the crowd and lowers me to the ground "Damn you are amazing" he kisses me quick. "Oh more booze please," I say grinning at him. "Sure darlin" he walks back behind the bar. I watch him make our drinks; I am feeling so happy it should be illegal. Paige and I are getting on really good now that she is away from her high school clique but only she can make the choice to stay away I am still going to stay friends with her no matter what she decides.
Knox brings over drinks "Last call ladies, want anything else?" I smile pulling him closer "You don't sell what I want" I pull his ear lobe between my teeth and give it a lick. He holds my hand and squeezes "Shit Bailey, what are trying to do to me?" I take a sip of my drink watching him watching me.
The bar takes ages to empty tonight everyone seems to want to hang out and talk. Max and Knox continue to tell people to leave, they walk towards the door then stop to talk again. I am getting frustrated and impatient, "I am starving," says Paige rubbing her stomach "Yeah me too, we should walk down to the hot dog cart" she nods so we put on our coats.
"Where are you going?" Knox asks walking over to us, his bright smile making me melt. "We are going on a hot dog run, you guys want anything?" Max shouts "Heck yeah, my stomach thinks my throat was cut" I shake my head smiling at him "Yeah me too" Knox chips in. "Ok we will be back in ten" I say walking over to the door, Knox holds my hand while he unlocks the door, giving me a quick kiss "Hurry back, got your phone?" "Yes Knox I have my phone" I roll my eyes then give him a little punch in the gut for good measure.
Paige and I run or rather trot down the strip, it's freezing and the wind has picked up "Oh man, its cold" Paige says linking her arm through mine, we huddle closer together teeth chattering. The hot dog cart has a line so we wait about five minutes before we can even order, "Four dog's with the works" I say to the guy handing over twenty dollars. We step back to the doorway of a store and huddle together again. "Hey tonight was fun, I am happy we came out together" I tell Paige, she smiles over at me "Yeah me too, I am sorry about last time. I was just so shocked that you punched Lara in the face" "Huh she deserved it, no one should talk to their friends like that," I say rubbing my hands together.
"I know, I don't want to be involved with them anymore, its all just games and bullshit with them" I nod in agreement because I know all to well about games and bullshit. "Hey you with the legs" the hot dog guy calls out, we step over and take two hot dogs each "Hot, hot, hot" I say as we trot back to the bar, our heels clicking on the sidewalk. We are just passing the plaza when someone steps out of the shadows "Hey Paige" I look over to see Duke, he has grabbed her by the sleeve trying to stop her. "Dude let her go" he sneers at me "Fuck you, you don't have those two assholes here now, do you?" this guy is such a dick Paige pulls her arm free and we walk on. He catches up to us "Paige I just want to talk for sec" she stops to look at him "What?" "Not with her around" he points at me.
"Tough shit asshole, I am not leaving her" he pushes me by the shoulder causing me to stumble backwards "Duke, what the fuck is wrong with you?" Paige shouts at him. She grabs my arm and we walk off again, we can hear him panting behind us, "Go away" Paige shouts at him, he is still following us "Fuck this guy Paige" I pull out my phone but hold it in front of me so Duke won't see it, I dial Knox.
"Hey where are you? We dying here" he jokes, I glance over my shoulder to Duke still in pursuit, "Babe open the door quick" we are almost there when Duke begins shouting at us "Yeah run back to the barmen you fucking sluts, this is not over Paige, it's not over". We see the light spill onto the sidewalk as the door of Georges opens, I sigh in relief. Knox steps outside looking for us, we run the last few feet and barge past him inside.
"Hey what's going on?" I hang up my phone putting it on the bar. We are both shaking from the cold our teeth chattering "Duke followed us back from the plaza" Paige says. "What, where is that motherfucker" Max says heading for the door, "He's gone" I say but they both go outside to check anyway. Paige and I open the hot dogs when they come inside "What is with this guy" Knox asks, "Did he touch either of you?" "No babe, we are good. Come on lets eat" Max supplies the sodas and we all sit at one of the tables.
Knox puts his hand on my thigh "Jesus Bailey you're freezing" "I'm good, used to it" I smile then bite my hot dog. We are sitting talking for a few minutes; I look over at Knox who has some mayo on his lip. I wipe it off with my thumb and he looks at me from the corner of his eye then winks. I stand to go into the bathroom letting go of Knox, I nod at Paige and she understands. "Good Idea, restroom then home" she says we walk in then I grab her "Hey do you have any quarters?" I ask as I walk over to the machine on the wall "Oh I have a tampon, here" she takes it out of her purse, I wave it away "No Paige I don't need that" I point to the condom section of the machine while she bursts out laughing.
"What's so funny?" shaking her head she hands me some change, I put it in the machine and turn the handle, nothing happens "What the fuck" Paige only laughs harder then runs into a stall needing to go, which makes me laugh. "You ok in there?" Knox shouts, we are still laughing, I stick my head out the door giving him thumbs up then close the door. Paige is washing her hands "Oh damn Bailey that is too funny, now you have to tell the management the condom machine is out" she laughs again. "Uggh" I bang my head against the machine in defeat, when a little silver present pops out "Ah ha" I grab it off the floor smiling "always be prepared".
