“Guess I’m not a loyal fan, because after that last interception, I’m willing to concede defeat.” Noel took a drink and Jody understood the fascination the man had with Adam’s apples. The way Noel’s moved made Jody want to lick it.

“We should maybe watch to make sure your team loses,” Jody forced himself to say.

Noel turned a hot gaze on him. “Nah, I think I’m good with being at your mercy.”

“Fifteen minutes.” He wanted to make sure Prissy was asleep. Every now and then she woke up after only a few minutes, crying for them to come to her. It was heart-wrenching, and twice she’d ended up in bed with them, something all the parenting books said was a bad deal.

Those authors didn’t have to look his baby girl in the eyes and tell her no.

Jody finished his drink. “You done?”

Noel handed over his empty can. “Can we go fuck now?”

“Cuss jar,” Jody ordered. “Then we can.”

Noel took a dollar out. “That isn’t fair. It’s not a bad word when we’re talking about doing it.”

Jody tipped his head down and looked up through his lashes at Noel. “Maybe not, but it’s a word we don’t want Prissy hearing from us.”

Noel put two dollars in the jar, then added a third. “In case I slip up when we’re gettin’ busy.”

Jody didn’t count those bad words. Most of the time he couldn’t even think when they were having sex, much less keep an ear out for cussing.

Their bedroom held a warmth now it hadn’t before Noel moved in. They’d bought brightly coloured bedding, and Gertie had made some pretty lacy things to go on the nightstand and dresser top. Noel had picked out a greyed-wood framed painting from the antiques store in Ashville. It’d cost too much in Jody’s book, but it was a nice landscape done in the colours of a Montana sunset.

Noel had brought a spark to the house that Jody had known was lacking.

“I want to go back and buy the other painting by that artist,” Noel said from behind him. “I have a thing for the Montana skies at night, and it was filled with stars, just like the real sky is out here.”

“That painting was three times the price of this one, but yeah, it was beautiful.” Jody turned and slipped his arms around Noel’s waist. “I’m nervous and so turned on at the same time. Why’m I nervous?”

“Same reason I am,” Noel said, nosing Jody’s temple. “Something new, something big. Afraid of going off before we get inside.”

“That last one, yeah.” Jody ran his hands up and down Noel’s back, then went lower and cupped his butt. “I think, you being the older, more experienced one of us two, you should top first. I’m seriously gonna come as quick as a flash.”

“I’d argue, but I want to feel you coming from the inside out.” Noel nipped his ear. “I want those sweet inner muscles to milk my cock while outside you shake and shudder for me.”

“Oh, Jesus,” Jody whimpered. “I’m— Get naked, Noel. Now.”

Jody stripped down in record time. Noel still beat him, even though he helped Jody get his boots off. Noel semi-tackled him onto the bed, knocking a grunt from the both of them.

Jody was so ready for Noel to be inside him that he would have done without the lube.

“No way,” Noel told him when Jody said as much. “This is gonna be a smooth ride for us both. At least until I start hammering away at your ass.”

Jody sat up and kissed Noel, teeth and tongue more at play than any tenderness. Noel growled and pushed him back down. Jody reached for his legs and pulled them up to his chest. He wasn’t as shy as he’d been a month ago.

“Good move,” Noel murmured. He caressed Jody’s neck and chest, teased his nipples with pinches and tugs. “I love these little things.” Noel rolled them between his fingers and licked the sole of Jody’s foot.

“Noel!” Jody squeaked, almost kicking his lover. “What’re you doing? That’s my foot!”

“I’m aware. It’s a nice foot, if you’d just try not to put it through my face.” He licked Jody’s foot again and Jody squirmed.

Noel hadn’t ever done that before, but he obviously had a wild hair up his ass, as Duke liked to say. Noel was trying something different and a little bit bent, and Jody was game. He was also a little ticklish, but when Noel sucked on his big toe, the jolt of need that shot through Jody surprised him.

His nipples were heated and very sensitised by Noel’s ministrations when Noel trailed his hands down lower. Noel kept messing with Jody’s foot, licking, sucking, making him want to pull away and beg for more.

When Noel began kissing his way down Jody’s leg, Jody almost wept with relief. His dick ached and he wanted Noel to fuck him so hard he couldn’t breathe without thinking of Noel.

His balls were cupped, his dick stroked, while Noel took his sweet time arousing Jody to greater heights.

Jody couldn’t stop moaning, begging, wanting. Noel flipped him over suddenly. Before Jody could figure out what side was up, Noel was licking his ass, pulling his cheeks apart more with every long glide of tongue. When he reached Jody’s hole, Noel stabbed his tongue right into it. Jody gasped and tried to fuck the bed, anything to get some friction on his cock.

Noel pulled on his hips, urging Jody to his knees. With his ass up in the air, Jody could only enjoy the blissful feelings Noel pushed into him with each thrust of his tongue. Jody reached beneath himself and started jerking off. He was going to come whether he did it or not. He was too close and— “No,” he wailed softly as Noel sat up.

“No coming yet. We really gotta get a cock ring for you.” Noel leaned over him and got the lube from beneath his pillow. “You can wait just a few more minutes. Think of something not sexy. Liver, maybe.”

“That’s disgusting.” But Jody did it while Noel opened the lube and poured some out. He kept thinking about every kind of food he absolutely hated while Noel pushed two fingers into him.

But all those thoughts scattered like leaves in a dust devil the instant Noel massaged his prostate. “Please, please, please,” Jody begged. “Come on, fuck me!”

Noel slipped a third finger into him. “I want you so many different ways. I think like this to start.” He withdrew his fingers. “Just like this.”

Jody arched his lower back. Noel pushed his fat cock in with one solid thrust. Jody thrilled at such an invasion. He loved being taken so thoroughly, and to know there was no barrier between him and Noel any longer was intoxicating.

Noel moaned and cursed, he clutched at Jody’s hips. “Damn, you’re so hot inside.”

Jody rocked back. Noel growled and began fucking him without further pause. The sound of his hips slapping against Jody’s ass was an erotic tune Jody would never forget.

“Love you,” he heard Noel say before thrusting into him even harder.

“Uhn,” was the best Jody could do when he was being pounded like there was no tomorrow and this was the last fuck they’d ever have. Noel looped an arm around his chest and grunted as he drove his cock in over and over again.

Jody’s cock was leaking pre-cum and his balls were drawn up tight. If he came, he wanted Noel to keep on fucking him until he was hard again.

Probably wouldn’t happen. Judging from the sounds Noel was making, he was close, too.

Noel withdrew and sat up. “On your side,” he ground out. Jody fell onto his belly and Noel pulled him into position. “Raise this leg.”

“Yes, sir,” Jody slurred, drunk with lust.

Noel mounted him again, hooking an arm under Jody’s top leg, and driving into him as if they hadn’t paused to change positions. Jody scrabbled for a hold on the blanket, on anything he could reach. He got some material, sheets or pillow or whatever. It didn’t matter. He pulled and writhed as Noel took him.

Sweat dripped down onto him. Jody opened his eyes and was able to see the fierce look on Noel’s face. Concentration—the man was using everything he had to keep from coming. Jody clenched his ass, did it again when Noel cursed.

Noel pulled out and put him on his back. Jody spread his legs, but Noel flopped down. “No. You ride me.”

“Well, yee-haw,” Jody found the breath to say. He climbed onto Noel’s lap. Noel held his cock and Jody rubbed his hole over the tip. “Feels so good.”

“It’ll feel better if you’ll just…go…down…” Noel shut up as Jody took his cock in, slowly, so slowly. When his balls rested on Noel’s belly, Jody wiggled and clenched his ass again.

“Jesus!” Noel grabbed Jody’s thighs and pulled him down while thrusting up at the same time. “Fuck!”

Jody closed his eyes and threw his head back as he moaned. He undulated, moving his hips in just the way that always made Noel lose whatever control he’d maintained.

Sure enough, Noel snarled and Jody had to hold on for the pounding he was taking. Noel didn’t let him ride for long. A half dozen thrusts and Noel flipped them, Jody onto his back and Noel fucking him face to face.

Jody spread his legs wide, pointing his toes out. He fisted his dick and stroked frantically. “Come on, come on. Give it to me,” he demanded.

Noel did, moving in and out harder, faster. Jody flung his free hand up to brace it against the headboard. He bowed his back as his climax rolled over him, crushing all his resistance and wringing his balls out as cum splattered onto his stomach.

“Yeah,” Noel growled. He sped up his thrusts then pushed in even deeper. The sound he made as his spunk warmed Jody’s inner walls was unlike any Jody had heard from him before. Between that and the pulsing cock inside him, Jody was floating on a cloud of ecstasy he was in no rush to come down from.

Gradually, he had to come back down to Earth. He pulled Noel down on top of him. “Stay,” he got out.

He wanted Noel right there on him, in him, for as long as he could hold him.

Chapter Fourteen

Noel woke up because he was being watched. He felt that gaze like a touch along his spine. It made his skin prickle with goose bumps. He opened one eye and was glad he and Jody had agreed to sleep in their shorts.

“Noel!” Prissy jumped on him. “Wake up!”

“Umph!” Her bony little knee came too close to clipping him in the worst possible spot. “Jody,” he gasped.

“Wha?” Jody mumbled.

“Daddy, get
up
. I hungwy.” Prissy crawled off him and bounced on Jody.

“Uh, gawwwwwd,” Jody whined. “I think you busted my intestines.”

“What’s those?” Prissy asked.

Noel rolled out of bed and padded to the bathroom. Jody could explain about guts. Noel wasn’t alive enough yet to go there.

After he’d gone through his morning bathroom routine, Noel headed back to the bedroom. He listened to Jody and Prissy, their voices faint but discernible. Noel hadn’t ever felt as content as he did in that moment.

It made him think of his other family, his brother and sister back in California. He’d talked to them off and on since he’d left. Not as much as he should have. They were busy with their careers, River acting in his first big movie and Josie getting her fashion company up and running.

Even so, they should be closer. Noel hadn’t even told them about Jody, really. They knew he was dating someone, that was all. What if they turned out like their parents? Noel made up his mind to call them each when he got home and have a long talk with them. Maybe he’d even do it like a conference call, so they could all three have a conversation.

At breakfast, Prissy was her usual bubbly self. Noel was amazed at how good everyone was with her. He’d have bet there’d been a big change in conversational topics once she’d come along.

It had opened his eyes to how much good there was in people. Whether he’d just forgotten that or never really known it before didn’t matter. Now he was aware of it. There were great people in the world, ones who would take time out every night to come tell a little girl sweet dreams, ones who’d try to make her feel at home, and treat her like she was their own.

Jody worried about her mom being gone, and Noel believed Prissy would have lots of questions, but she wouldn’t ever doubt that she was loved.

“Hey, can I speak to you for a minute?” Ian asked him when Noel pushed his chair back to stand up. “I know you have to be at work soon, and so do I.”

Jody gave him a worried look and Noel shrugged. He didn’t know what Ian wanted to tell him. “Okay.”

Ian went outside and Noel followed him. On the porch, Ian stopped and handed him his phone. “Sorry I didn’t get it back to you sooner. I actually copied everything off it and sent it to a guy Carlos knows back in Texas. Former FBI agent. He said he’d see if he could dig anything up on Clive Milner, but last night Glenn—that’s the ex-agent—called me and said none of his contacts could find any proof the phone you were being texted from had been purchased by Milner. You didn’t get any more texts from him after that night, either, in case you wondered.”

Part of Noel had. “Mostly I didn’t care. I just want him to go away. Thanks for trying.” Noel took the phone. He had older missed calls from Josie and River, but he’d spoken to them since then. “Looks like I didn’t miss much on it.”

Ian grunted. Noel looked from his phone. “You want my advice, I’d throw that thing away. No, I’d put it up somewhere and never take it out unless your ex harasses you again. Might be evidence even if the FBI couldn’t find anything out this time. Maybe he’ll text you again and give something away. Maybe he’ll drop dead in two hours and it won’t be an issue.”

Noel considered his options. There was still a problem, as far as he could see it. “The thing is, he’s going to do the same thing to someone else. The next guy, he might go too far and kill him. I don’t want that to happen, Ian. If I have to go back to California to make sure Clive doesn’t hurt anyone else, I’ll do it.”

He heard a sharp inhale behind him and turned to see Jody staring at him through the screen door. “Jody, I can’t—”

Jody came out and got right in his face. “You can’t be running off, that’s what you can’t be doing. How would I explain that to Prissy?” Jody moved closer. “What if he hurt you, Noel? I’d have to go out there and kill him.”

“I didn’t hear that,” Ian muttered. “Heard nothing at all.”

“Then I’d go to prison,” Jody continued. “Don’t make me do that. I seriously don’t know if I could sit back and do nothing if he hurt you, Noel.”
