First, I must thank my wife Jo Ann for all
of her support. From the inception of the idea to the revision stage, she has
been a tireless cheerleader of my work, encouraging me to complete the story
even when it became difficult. Writing is no easy task, but she makes it easier.

I also need to thank Bethany and Owen, who
have had to endure their dad going out periodically to focus on writing.

Thanks also goes to Jim Sutton, whose
enthusiasm for time travel stories helped me avoid inconsistencies in the
timeline.

My parents have always encouraged my
writing from a young age, from printing up my old newsletters to buying me my
first typewriter.

Finally, a huge thank you goes to my
students, the beta readers who gave honest feedback on the drafts to let me
know what worked and what didn’t. They helped me shape the story into what it
is today.
