made a disgusted noise as he held her. “I’m to be driven mad! Price
of bloody insanity is what it is!”

“
No, it’s the right thing to
do, Garret,” she told him firmly. “While you might not like the
chaos, you’ve atoned to all of them by taking in the children. Even
Ms. Newland sings your praises these days now that she’s had time
to focus on her own life.”

“
I want you to myself,”
Garret stated petulantly and dropped a kiss on her lips, sighing in
regret. “It appears I only get you at bedtime anymore, my love;
when you’re awake, that is.”

“
We have three days until we
leave for Ravensford Hall,” Arianne reminded him, eyes filled with
laughter. “Let us make the most of them.”

Garret tilted her chin up and kissed
her lingeringly. “I have a new game for you, my love.”

Arianne stilled at the mention of that
scintillating facet of their marriage, one which seemed to have
been neglected of late. “You have a new game? But I still like the
old ones.”

You’ve mastered them all.
