“Everything was happening all at once and then I heard the door. I almost did not get up.”

“Yeah I was so lost in what we were doing I didn’t hear a thing. Leave it to me we would have been busted. Thanks for your bionic hearing Dominic.”

“A little paranoia goes a long way.
I was still uh finishing in the bathroom. It was really hard to keep quiet.”

“I figured you were still um finishing. My body was tingling so much that putting on my underwear made my knees weak.”

“Hmm,” He replies. “So am I to take it that going slow was good for you too?”

“Yes it was. It was nerve racking and pleasurable at the same time.”

“Yes it felt good to watch you unravel and hear you beg me.”

“Oh so you are a bit of a masochist? I knew you were kinky.”

Dominic playfully nips my earlobe to demonstrate his displeasure.

“I just never imagined that we would ever finally get to this point. Now that we are it’s a pleasure giving you pleasure.”
His voice is so soft and earnest I just about melt into the bed.

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!” I exclaim
ed giggling softly.

“You’re welcome! You’re welcome! You’re welcome!” He replies as I snuggle into his embrace allowing sleep to take me.

CHAPTER 13

The next few days Dominic and I adapt to
our newfound interest in having sex whenever we can. The kids are aware that something has changed between us but remain quiet on the subject. Before class or after class Dominic and I take the opportunity to indulge in a rapidly evolving pastime of pleasure.  It is intoxicating to have him want me so much. I reciprocate whenever possible to show him that I am just as interested in being with him in that way. As we get more comfortable with each other’s bodies we find that sex can be fun outside the bedroom as well.

We try to watch television one afternoon before it is time to pick up the kids from school. About twenty minutes into the attempt we are making out. I am enjoying the feel of his mouth on my neck and breasts while he
takes pleasure in me occasionally stroking him inside his shorts.

“Stay right here I have to get a condom,” he
said forcibly. I do as I am told eagerly awaiting his return.  I now know he prefers to undress me whenever possible. Upon his return he pulls off my clothes achingly slow increasing my desire tenfold. I am ready to combust by the time he rolls on the condom. Resting on his knees he pulls my lower half to him sliding into me. Instead of him moving inside me he moves me back and forth on him. The view of him working me back and forth is such a turn on that I feel myself letting go within minutes. As I come apart his fingers find my special spot and I cry out loudly grateful the kids are at school.

“Ah Dominic baby,” I moan as my body shudders.

“You are even more beautiful when you come,” Dominic said smiling down at me. He starts to move inside me as my body welcomes the friction enthusiastically providing lots of natural lubricant. Dominic is enthralled kissing my breasts, then my neck, then my face, and finally my lips in crazy fits. I feel as if I am being ravished and I just love all the sensations. The sound of his growling lets me know that he is feeling it too.

“Sammie baby fuck,” he cries out driving deep into me as he releases.
The next few words out of his mouth are garbled Spanish I do not understand.  I come once more providing him with a fresh line of scratches down his powerfully built back. I resist the urge to fall asleep enjoying the tender moment spent lying on Dominic’s chest when we are finished.

“I am going to enjoy being married to you Sammie,” he murmurs smiling.

“Ditto baby ditto,” I respond with kisses on his chest. Dominic dozes lightly for a while then we both dress in time to pick up the children.

“Where are we going this is not the way to our apartment?” Charlie
asked looking out the window happy that Bryce’s car seat is in the middle of the backseat. This gives him and Morgan window seats as I am in the front passenger seat.

“We thought we would go pick out our new minivan together. You know as a family,” I
said smiling in the rearview mirror.

“Yes! Will we get it today?” Charlie inquires slapping hands with Morgan.

“Probably not today but within a few days depending on which model we choose,” Dominic answers for me. I give his hand a soft squeeze when he does so. If the kids see this they do not comment. I think they are warming to the idea that this is blooming into something real rather than something planned. Morgan and Charlie discuss the features they are looking for in our new automobile.

Timothy Lane is all smiles when we walk into the Automotive Mall. Vigorously he shakes my hand then Dominic’s hand before acknowledging the kids.  I make simple introductions before he begins his spiel.

“Miss Gable we have your financing all set. Now all we have to do is have your lovely family pick out which vehicle you want,” he said with a wide salesman smile.

“Thank you Mr. Lane. I believe we will look at the Dodge Grand Caravan,
Honda Odyssey, and the Ford Windstar,” I said smiling back at him.

One hour later we are a
ll decided that the Honda Odyssey Ex is our best and safest choice.  Dominic and I love the safety features while the kids loved the spacious interior, CD changer, sound system, and that I added the DVD entertainment package.  The total price is slightly more than what I wanted to spend but Dominic assures me that he will contribute to our monthly expenses by picking up a part-time job over the summer.

“Are you trading in your current vehicle?” Mr. Lane
asked as he puts the paperwork together.

“No I am going to keep my other car,” I
said as Dominic raises an eyebrow.

“I am sure it is worth a few thousand dollars Sam. It can take something off the bottom line,” Dominic
whispered as Mr. Lane leaves to get additional paperwork from the finance department.

“I know but I want you to have the Camry. I know it’s not the manliest car but it will be better if we have two vehicles at our disposal.”

Dominic looked at me with a mixed reaction of shock and horror.

“No Sam! Please use the car to help with the down payment.” Dominic insists holding my hands to emphasize his point. I hold his hands mar
veling in the smoothness of his smooth browned skin.

“We need both cars with you getting a part-time job, Morgan going to gymnastics camp, and the
boys summer activities.” I hope this explanation works to change his mind. Dominic settles back in his seat wrestling with this decision internally.

“Dominic before this deportation thing came up I already made up my mind to get another car. I planned to give you my car as a graduation gift to help you get around better. Please do not make this into something it is not.”

“Besides you need a car to drive me to Uncle Winston’s so we can build our go cart,” Charlie points out happy to add his two cents.

“I hope you can come to some of my
gymnastic competitions when mom can’t make it,” Morgan said chiming in. I see in Dominic’s eyes that he is beyond touched to the point of possibly being emotional. His manly nature overrides his desire to express himself in that fashion.

“Thanks Sam,” he manages to
say giving my hand a quick squeeze. I know he will want to talk about this without the kids around but I will hold my ground.  Mr. Lane comes back with the necessary paperwork and I start the seemingly endless signing of my name.

“I think it’s really impressive that someone your age owns a successful company,” Mr. Lane
said as I sign a purchase order form.  I look up at him trying hard to maintain a normal facial expression that does not register the pain I feel.

“Thank you! My parents left it to us,” I explain hoping that stops him from further inquiry. It does as he frowns with acceptance. More forms and more forms are signed making the kids impatient.

“I gotta go potty,” Bryce announces while I call my car insurance company. Dominic stands immediately as Mr. Lane directs them to the nearest restroom. Morgan and Charlie join them to use the restroom and get a change of scenery for a minute.

“I think you’re going to be very happy with your purchase Miss Gable.
We should have your new minivan here in a few days. We will call you when you can pick it up.”  Mr. Lane looks happy to make the sale and I suspect the man I am meeting now is the real Mr. Lane and not the salesman version.

“Thank you Mr. Lane. I am sure my family and I will enjoy the Honda very much.”

“Your boyfriend may hog the driver’s seat it rides really nicely.”

I am not sure if he is fishing to figure out my relationship with Dominic but I decide to enlighten him.

“Dominic and I are getting married this summer so I guess that would make him my fiancé. Mr. Lane these numbers are not the same as on the previous forms I signed,” I said pointing to the paperwork.  He looks down and smiles the salesman is back.

“I am sorry I forgot the good news from the financing department. Since you are a recent college graduate you qualify for several discounts including special financing. Let me reprint the corrected form.”

He takes the form I was reading and puts it through a small shredder next to his desk.  Quickly he retrieves the new form I immediately resume reading and signing.  When the family returns I informed Dominic of the new financing which gives him some relief regarding our monthly budget.

“Dominic see it all works out,” I pronounce grinning as I show him the new financing.

“I guess it does. We still need to talk about the Camry later,” he retorts.  I roll my eyes in exaggerated disgust and pretend to gag.  The kids laugh including Bryce who has no idea why everyone is laughing.

We stop for Chinese take out on the way home while picking up a few movie rentals.  Once the kids finish their homework we settled down in the living room to eat and watch our movies. Bryce is asleep in my arms before the second movie starts. I smell his toddler hair and kiss his chubby cheeks realizing how blessed I am to have him as my son. Dominic sees me loving my son and gently places my feet in his lap. Slowly he rubs s
mall circles along the instep and down to the heel of my foot. I am grateful I had a pedicure this weekend and that he uses just enough pressure so that it does not tickle.  Morgan and Charlie are sitting on the floor in front of the couch engrossed in the second movie. I doze eventually with Bryce still nestled against my chest. After the second movie ends Dominic puts Bryce to bed before waking me up to join him in our room.

The next morning we are up conducting our normal routines. Bryce is sitting in his chair eating oatmeal while Charlie is in the bathroom getting dressed. Morgan is making toast in the kitchen area while Dominic is drinking a cup of coffee at the table.

“Thanks for putting Bryce to bed for me last night. I guess I missed the rest of the movie?” I ask reaching for a slice of Morgan’s toast. She is smart and always makes an extra slice just for me.

“Yeah it ended dumb,” Morgan answers pulling an ear bud out of her ear.

“I agree,” Dominic chimes in looking me over once more. He gives a subtle nod of approval to my appearance. For some strange reason I have taken to wearing all of my skirts and today is no exception. I am wearing a pink cotton skirt that stops just above my knees with a sleeveless gray cotton blouse.

“Is everyone ready to go?” I ask
ed blushing under Dominic’s brown-eyed gaze. Morgan has a few finals but otherwise she is excited that summer vacation is almost within reach.  I have already spoken to Morgan’s new gymnastics coach, Linda Zerminski. She is ready to get Morgan back to competition form.  Charlie has agreed to attend a summer camp were he will resume playing the piano much to my joy.  Bryce will spend some time in summer camp preparing him for pre-kindergarten in the fall.  I want to revamp the operations of GPM and consider graduate school.  Dominic will be working part-time at a local hospital as a lab tech.

CHAPTER 14

Somehow we have to squeeze a small wedding into all of the organized summer chaos.  Dominic and I plan to sit down and organize our calendar of events in order to ensure that his parents have enough time to solidify their travel arrangements.  He has not told them yet of his plans to marry. I suspect he is worried they will be disappointed he is choosing to marry an American girl. Dominic wants to fill me in on the customs associated with his culture when it comes to marriage.  I have known for quite sometime that Dominic is Catholic but I know that he has not been as consistent with his attendance as he has in the past. I know he feels a boatload of guilt for his lack of devotion to his faith. During his first few years at U of A, Dominic was heavily involved with the campus Catholic ministries. As his classes became more stringent and his swimming competitions increased he found it hard to participate in all of the activities. I knew that he attended mass and confession on a regular basis.

“I have an appointment on campus in a few hours to discuss our future,” he
said to me as the kids put on their backpacks. I understand that he is going to talk to one of the priests about possibly conducting our ceremony. I know that means that I would have to convert to Catholicism if we are to marry.  It means a lot to Dominic and to his family. Sometime soon I think it would be important for me to stop by the ministry without him to see what I need to know. My heart confirms that I will do whatever it takes to see to it that he is happy. If that means that I have to adhere to the principles of my future husband’s faith then so be it. Dominic is in deep thought holding his mug of coffee as we prepare to leave.

“I will see you later baby,” I
said sweetly before bending to give him a full on kiss. The kids all turn to stare at me as he returns the affection.  When I pull away from him I am flushed but temporarily sated.  Morgan and Charlie stand with their mouths open as I help Bryce pull on his small SpongeBob Squarepants backpack.

“Mommy
, I did not said you could kiss my daddy,” Bryce said folding his arms.

“I am sorry Brycie I did not know I needed to ask you.  Can I please kiss your daddy whenever I want to?” I ask pulling a
face, which makes him laugh.

“I will think about it,” Bryce replies heading for the door. “Adios
papá.”  I gape at my son as he speaks Spanish with such ease. I look back at Dominic who is beaming with paternal pride.

“Adios mi hijo,”
Dominic said practically bursting at the seams.

A few days later and just in time for Charlie’s eighth grade graduation our new silver Honda Odyssey is ready for pick up
that morning.  Charlie is on cloud nine as he gets to ride shotgun in our new minivan on our way to Wiseman Middle School.  Heading east on Eighth Street and then north on Euclid Avenue we pass the high school that Morgan attends. Charlie will soon join her at the magnate high school, which is huge when I think about my not so little Charlie attending.   I try to stifle tears that threaten as we drive the few short blocks to the middle school.

The ceremony is short but sweet and the highlight of my day has been watching my son/brother walk across the stage. He is overwhelmed with lots of awards for his citizenship, academics, and attendance record. I am so proud of him that I am shedding tears of joy as is Morgan. We are both thinking
about our parents and how proud they would be right now. Dominic takes my hand to comfort me and I love his presence during this moment.  When the ceremony is over we have a round of pictures with Charlie and his friends before heading out to a nice celebratory lunch. It’s still early in the day and I have allowed both Morgan and Bryce to miss school to attend the graduation.

Later that day Dominic and I both hunker down to study for our upcoming finals. I have but two finals while Dominic has four to deal with. I will be done with
mine one week before he will and I think he is jealous of this arrangement. Graduation is the in a few weeks and we both put it out of our minds to focus on passing our classes.

“Hey do not get mad at me brainiac. You chose biology and not business. I have two finals and wrote a paper,” I
said gloating.

“Sh! I am trying to study thank you very much,” he re
torts with mock seriousness. We are sitting on the couch or rather he is sitting and I have my legs stretched out with my feet resting on his lap. He is using my feet to prop his book up and occasionally tickles them to mess with me.

I eventually take a break from the relentless studying to make dinner.
It’s a little later than I usually make dinner due to the studying but the kids understand.  Using my griddle I grill chicken breasts that I marinated in a teriyaki marinade. I take out the romaine lettuce cutting it for a salad along with Roma tomatoes, cucumbers, and shredded parmesan cheese. In a pot of boiling lightly salted water I toss in three cheese raviolis. Morgan sneaks past me grabbing a piece of chicken as I toss the salad with Caesar dressing.

“Heathen,” I joke as she gobbles the chicken down licking her fingers.

I simmer a marinara sauce for several minutes before adding the three cheese raviolis. This meal is one of Bryce’s favorite. He will eat more than one serving of the raviolis. Morgan places the dinner plates on the table while Charlie gets the beverages this time. Dominic pauses his studying long enough to eat dinner.

“Great dinner babe,” Dominic
said kissing my neck and cheek. Charlie stares as he is having a hard time with our overtly affectionate gestures. I decide to talk to him later to make sure that he is still okay with our arrangement.  Dominic loads the dishwasher as I put the leftovers into containers.

“Mommy
, I want you to read to me tonight please,” Bryce said tugging on my shorts.

“But of course my handsome man,” I respond giving Dominic a wink as I walk to Bryce’s room.  Inside his room Bryce rushes to put on his pajamas
then hops into his racecar bed.  I sit on the little blue chair next to his bed as he hands me the book he wants me to read.

“Mommy do you love my daddy?” Bryce
asked his tiny hand stroking the back of my hand.

I gasp at the question searching my brain before I answer, “Dominic? Yes I do love your daddy very much.”

“I do too. I was just checking,” he said pulling his sheet up to his chin.

“Snug as a bug in a rug are you?” I
said in a goofy voice that makes him laugh then I give him a few tickles as well. “Brycie you know that mommy loves you so much right?”

“Duh I know mommy.” He looks exasperated by my question and I purse my lips.

“Since when do you say duh?” He slaps a hand to his forehead as if I am getting on his nerves.

“From Morgan duh.” He
said in a fit of giggles. I tickle him some more before I start to read the story. I am not half way through the story when he finally falls asleep.  His little thumb is nestled in his mouth as I kiss his forehead.

“Charlie, can I talk to you in your room for a minute?” I ask
ed him gently and he follows me back into his shared bedroom with Bryce.

“What’s up mom?” He
questioned a little nervous that he has done something wrong.

“I just want to make sure that you are ok with my relationship with Dominic.”

“Yes I am,” he stammers, “It’s just funny to see you two kissing and being so nice to each other. I mean I know you are getting married but it looks like you two really like each other.”

“Well Charlie we really do like each other as more than friends. Is that something that would bother you?”

“No. I just do not want him to hurt you like Danny. I like Dominic but if he hurt you I wouldn’t like him very much anymore.” Charlie fidgets as his anger bubbles to the surface.

“I do not think that Dominic is going to hurt me. No matter what happens with us I will always be here to take care of you. I will not fall apart I promise.”

“I like that you are happy. You smile and giggle a lot,” he laughs.

“You guys make me happy. Dominic makes me happy. If our affection bothers you then we will stop doing that in front of you.” I pray that it does not bother him I
love-kissing Dominic whenever I feel like it.

“No it doesn’t bother me. You are such a girl mom.” He
said giving me a reassuring hug. I blush immediately as I nod my head in agreement.  Charlie nods that he understands feeling more at ease with this talk. When Morgan and Charlie go to bed we resume our studying until I can take it no more. I go to bed alone as Dominic pulls an all-nighter.  I wake up several hours later and he is still on the couch studying. I force him to come to bed sleeping much more comfortably with his arms around me.
