was born in the town of Presque Isle, Maine. He is the author of several novels, including

Lord Byron’s Novel: The Evening Land. The Solitudes

(the first and second volumes of the Ægypt cycle) were enshrined in Harold Bloom’s Western Canon. Crowley teaches at Yale
University.
