He sounded anxious for her approval. Jessica moved a little closer to him on the blue leather seat and said with all her love in her voice, “As far as I’m concerned, Matthew darling, you can design pigsties. I shall just have to learn to draw pigs.”
He looked down at her with a grin that quickly changed to something warmer. Halting the horses, he pulled her into his arms.
When they drove on, he drove slowly, the reins held in his right hand and his left arm about her waist. Hanson sighed. It was going to be a long journey home.
