“I’m sorry I ran, but I knew you’d keep your promise and protect me,” she admitted. “I’m glad you hadn’t already moved on.”

“Never. After I found you, no other woman could measure up. I spent my time in the gym instead of dating. You will always be the only one for me.”

She kissed him then, and no other words needed to be said. He made love to her slowly until they came together, and then collapsed in each other’s arms.

The following day they’d start shifter training, and she needed to meet his alpha and the rest of the clan. They also needed to make plans. Her move into his home, a wedding, a honeymoon and a baby shower were the first things on the list. Her scent had changed almost instantly after they’d completed the bond, and he loved that their first child had been conceived during their mating.

They had a lot to do, but he pushed it all out of his mind. Instead, he listened to Becca’s even breathing, and savored the last few moments of the best night of his life.

He fell asleep with his mate securely wrapped in his protective embrace.
